Thanks to an Amazon listing whoopsie by Spigen, we’re getting what appears to be our first look at the upcoming Pixel Buds Pro 2 earbuds from Google.

This leak is the marketing material from an Amazon product listing for the protective case that owners can place their earbuds case into. According to the images, the case is compatible with both the Pixel Buds Pro and Buds Pro 2, meaning we should expect the exact same year-over-year dimensions for the case itself.

As for the buds, we can see that Google will likely introduce a pink color option, likely to match that Peony-colored Pixel 9 we’ve been seeing around. We’re all for that. These images also confirm we should not expect any sort of stem on these earbuds, which differs from Samsung’s approach this year with the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro.

On the bottom of the case we can see a small cutout next to the USB-C plug. It’s speculated this could be for a speaker that will help owners find lost buds via the Find My Device network. We’ll need to wait for Google to announce these things to know for sure, though.

Thoughts on the buds? How about that color? Hot, right?

Not that long ago, the idea of listening to your television with wireless headphones might have sounded like something straight out of “The Jetsons.” However, in more recent years, many TVs have adopted Bluetooth connection capabilities similar to our smartphones and laptops, enabling users to connect headphones, speakers, and other devices without the hassle of wires or cords.

Likewise, there are a wide variety of wireless headphones available exclusively made to work with TV audio. Whether you’re trying to not to disturb your partner or roommates while playing games late at night or simply want to hear your favorite show better without blasting the volume, the freedom offered by Bluetooth-enabled television is truly unmatched.

But what if you have an older TV that doesn’t support Bluetooth? Is there any way of listening to it with Bluetooth headphones? The answer is, yes there is — but you’ll need a little extra help. To get the job done, you’ll need a Bluetooth transmitter or adapter. These devices range in capabilities, strength, and affordability, but all with the likeminded goal of giving you a smooth, seamless connection between your television and Bluetooth device.

We’ve gathered four of these transmitters, with our picks being based on a range of factors such as product versatility, price, customer reviews, and industry reception. You can learn more about our selection process at the end of this article.

1Mii B03 Bluetooth 5.3 Transmitter Receiver

In you search for Bluetooth TV transmitters, 1Mii is a brand you’re bound to come across sooner or later. This is in large part thanks to its wide variety of Bluetooth audio solutions that cater to users of various expertise levels and budgets. Easily one of the company’s most popular picks among buyers is the 1Mii B03 Bluetooth Transmitter Receiver, a device which is versatile enough for most needs.

This transmitter comes equipped with a solid variety of audio input options, including RCA, Optical, and AUX 3.5mm, making it easy to pair with a good majority of televisions. Its 5.3 Bluetooth capabilities are ideal for receiving superb sound quality while being a good few steps above other transmitters that only go up to 5.0.

AptX Low Latency is also imbued into the transmitter to prevent audio delay and lip-sync issues. It additionally comes with a dual-stream feature that allows for up to two headphones or speakers to be connected simultaneously.

Overall, this is a well-liked pick by most buyers and is a top recommended choice by platforms such as Wirecuttter of The New York Times. On Amazon, where it sells for $49.99, the 1Mii B03 Bluetooth Transmitter Receiver holds an average of 4.1 out of 5 stars based on over 800 reviews, with customers liking its straightforward setup, lack of lagging, and solid range.

Avantree Oasis Plus Bluetooth Transmitter & Receiver

Avantree is another brand that boasts its fair share of Bluetooth transmitters. Among its many options is the Oasis Plus Bluetooth Transmitter and Receiver. With a good size, plenty of features, and strong connection capabilities, this is another choice that has a lot to offer.

While in its Transmitter mode, the Oasis Plus is compatible with most TVs and Bluetooth headphones. Oasis also has a special Bypass function that can be used to have audio come out of both your headphones and TV speakers at the same time, allowing for simultaneous public and private output options. You can also stream audio from your smartphone or tablet when the device in Receiver mode.

No matter what you plan on using the transmitter for, you’ll have no trouble with the audio cutting out. On top of the Oasis Plus running on Bluetooth 5.0 and being aptX Low Latency certified to ensure stellar sound quality, it also sports an exceptionally long range of 164 feet, giving you the freedom to perform tasks around the house while staying plugged in.

This is another popular and highly rated pick by many customers. Over 6,400 Amazon reviewers have given the Oasis Plus a 4.2-star average rating. While some mixed reactions have come out regarding slight audio issues and difficulty in setting up the device, most were happy with the range and its dual connection capabilities. It’s also one of the pricier options on this list, coming in at $79.99. Tom’s Guide also listed the Oasis Plus as its top Bluetooth TV adapter for 2024 based on its multitude of features.

1Mii ML300 Bluetooth 5.3 Transmitter Receiver

While many traditional Bluetooth transmitters are undeniably good at what they do, other options exist that pack similar capabilities but in a smaller package. Such is the case for another device from 1Mii, the ML300 Bluetooth 5.3 Transmitter Receiver.

The ML300 shares many of the same qualities as its larger counterparts under the 1Mii umbrella, such as 5.3 Bluetooth technology and aptX Low Latency. What sets it apart is its compact size. This not only allows the ML300 to be useful at home for your non-Bluetooth TV and other devices, but it can even prove useful for enabling Bluetooth at locations outside of the house such as cars, gyms, and airplanes.

It’s powered by a built-in battery that, on a single charge, can last up to 15 hours on receiver mode or 12 hours on transmitter mode. One mild downside is that it doesn’t support as wide a variety of connection capabilities as some larger transmitters, with the adapter only being compatible with devices that have a 3.5mm aux or 2RCA audio jack. While many TVs have these connection points, it’s a good idea to double check yours beforehand to ensure it will work with the ML300.

Nevertheless, customers have largely liked this handy little tool, with it currently sporting a 4.1 out of 5-star average rating on Amazon. It’s also a relatively inexpensive pick, coming in at only $39.99.

Beeitzie Bluetooth Transmitter

Another small transmitter worth checking out is the Beeitzie Bluetooth Transmitter. While it may come off as being more basic than some of the other picks, it nevertheless succeeds in its intended functions and comes with its fair share of welcome surprises.

It’s worth getting some of its limitations out of the way first. Unlike the other devices on this list, the Beeitzie only functions as a transmitter and not a receiver, meaning you can’t use it to send music from your phone nor will it work well in your car. It also lacks the volume control features of similar devices and has a rather limited connection range of around 32 feet. Besides these minor gripes, however, the Beeitzie still makes the list for its great convenience, ease of use, and solid set of features.

The Beeitzie sports sophisticated technology with Bluetooth 5.4 and a Qualcomm chipset. This, combined with its aptX Low Latency, help achieve superb audio quality and performance. Along with possessing dual pairing capabilities, the Beeitzie also comes with a dual 3.5mm adapter, making it a favorite for frequent plane flyers.

No matter if you use it thousands of feet in the air or a few feet away from your couch, it will run for more than an entire day thanks to its long-lasting 26-hour battery that takes only two hours to fully charge. These functions and more have made this a highly rated pick on Amazon, with a near-perfect 4.9 rating average on the site, where it can be purchased for $39.99.

Why we chose these Bluetooth TV transmitters

Much thought went into picking each transmitter that appears on this list. To be fully transparent, these picks were primarily based on public perception as I have had no personal experience using or testing any of these transmitters. Nevertheless, I approached the list from the perspective of a consumer wanting to make a thorough informed decision, thus several factors went into deciding what made the cut.

As it’s impossible to know the specific situation of each reader, variety was the name of the game here. While this was tricky to do with Bluetooth TV transmitters, as many of the best ones share similar qualities and functions, it was still important that each entry on the list had at least one special quality that helped it stand apart, whether it was its compact size, wider audio range, or a hearty battery life. Similarly, while Bluetooth transmitters as a whole are far from the most expensive products SlashGear has covered, I included a wide range of prices to suit varying budgetary needs.

Of course, I also heavily relied on reviews for this piece. Trusted online platforms that have tested and recommended these products such as Wirecutter and Tom’s Guide were looked at, as well as extensive Amazon reviews and ratings, with nothing on this list sporting anything less than a 4.1 average rating.

CrowdStrike sent out so many $10 apology gift cards that Uber marked them as fraud https://perks-to-win.me/crowdstrike-sent-out-so-many-10-apology-gift-cards-that-uber-marked-them-as-fraud/ https://perks-to-win.me/crowdstrike-sent-out-so-many-10-apology-gift-cards-that-uber-marked-them-as-fraud/#respond Fri, 26 Jul 2024 09:48:54 +0000 https://perks-to-win.me/?p=72409

It’s now been confirmed that after the massive internet outage last week at the hands of CrowdStrike, the company tried to send out $10 Uber Eats gift cards to partners to say sorry for making so many people work overtime.

To make matters worse, people have reported that these digital gift cards don’t even work. Uber flagged the gift cards as spam because so many were being sent out at once, but CrowdStrike is working to correct that issue, according to a report from TechCrunch.

Contractors in other countries got even less depending on the exchange rates. One U.K.-based contractor shared that they only got £7.75. That said, if anyone in Canada got one of these gift cards, the exchange rate should push it up to $13 CAD.

Overall, CrowdStrike is reaching out and trying to do something nice for the IT workers who had to fix its mistake, but there’s something detached about how low $10 is in 2024 that makes this feel like less of a wholesome moment and more of a “corporations suck” moment.

Wordle Today: Wordle answer and hints for July 26 https://perks-to-win.me/wordle-today-wordle-answer-and-hints-for-july-26/ https://perks-to-win.me/wordle-today-wordle-answer-and-hints-for-july-26/#respond Fri, 26 Jul 2024 09:45:23 +0000 https://perks-to-win.me/?p=72406

We have the solution to Wordle on July 16, as well as some helpful hints to help you figure out the answer yourself, right here. We’ve placed the answer at the bottom of the page, so we don’t ruin the surprise before you’ve had a chance to work through the clues. So let’s dive in, starting with a reminder of yesterday’s answer.

Yesterday’s Wordle answer

Let’s start by first reminding ourselves of yesterday’s Wordle answer for those new to the game or who don’t play it daily, which was “PORCH.” So we can say that the Wordle answer today definitely isn’t that. Now, with that in mind, perhaps take another stab at it using one of these Wordle starting words and circle back if you have no luck.

Hints for today’s Wordle

Still can’t figure it out? We have today’s Wordle answer right here, below. But first, one more thing: Let’s take a look at three hints that could help you find the solution, without giving it away, so there’s no need to feel guilty about keeping your streak alive — you put in some work, after all! Or just keep scrolling for the answer.

Today’s Wordle includes the letter w.
Today’s Wordle uses one vowel.
Today’s Wordle means covered by water.

Today’s Wordle answer

No luck? Don’t sweat it — you can’t get them all! If you just want to see today’s Wordle answer to continue your streak, you can find it below.

The answer to today’s Wordle is …

AWASH
Today’s Wordle definition

And here’s what it means, according to our good friend ChatGPT:

The term “awash” has a few related meanings, depending on the context:

Literal Meaning: It describes something that is covered with or surrounded by water. For example, “The shore was awash with the rising tide,” means that the shore was covered or flooded with water.
Figurative Meaning: It can also refer to something being overwhelmed or inundated with a large quantity of something, such as information, emotions, or other abstract concepts. For instance, “The company was awash with new ideas” means the company was overflowing with new ideas.

In both uses, “awash” conveys the sense of being thoroughly covered or overwhelmed by something.

Tips for tomorrow’s Wordle

It might seem like Wordle is all luck, but there are a few good practices you can use to help get as many clues as possible in just a few guesses, making it that much more likely you can figure out the final word before you run out of tries. The most important guess is your first, and the trick is to load up on vowels (A, E, I, O, and U).

Some popular starting words people have had good luck with are “adieu,” “media,” “arise,” and “radio.” Just make sure not to pick a word with double letters, or you’re wasting precious guesses. The aim here is to try to figure out which vowels the mystery word contains, then layer in common consonants and close in from there.

Your second word, assuming that the first one gave you a good jumping-off point, should begin to lean more heavily on common consonants like R, S, and T. More good ones here we’ve seen are “stern,” “irate,” and “atone.” You never want to reuse any letters from a prior round that showed up as gray — you know they aren’t in the word.

Now that’s all solved and the definition is taken care of, and you’re armed with some tips to crush tomorrow’s Wordle, here are some games like Wordle you can try today.

How Much Horsepower The Hybrid Koenigsegg Chimera Has & What It Costs https://perks-to-win.me/how-much-horsepower-the-hybrid-koenigsegg-chimera-has-what-it-costs/ https://perks-to-win.me/how-much-horsepower-the-hybrid-koenigsegg-chimera-has-what-it-costs/#respond Fri, 26 Jul 2024 09:42:59 +0000 https://perks-to-win.me/?p=72403

The Koenigsegg Chimera has got to be the rarest production car from the Swedish hypercar maker. It’s also a hybrid, but not in an electrified form like the Toyota Prius. In Greek mythology, the “chimera” is a fire-breathing female monster with the head of a lion, a goat’s body, and a serpent’s tail. Using the less terrifying definition, it could refer to an illusion or an impossible dream.

As it turns out, the Koenigsegg Chimera is all that and more. Commissioned by former rally driver and FIA president Mohammed Ben Sulayem, the Chimera is an Agera RS with an engine from the Jesko and a gearbox from the Koenigsegg CC850. Moreover, the FIA president fell in love with the paddle shifters in the Jesko, so he asked Koenigsegg to add those to the Chimera as well.

The result is an Agera RS with a Jesko-derived 5.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine, a six-speed gated manual gearbox with a conventional clutch pedal from the CC850, and a nine-speed Koenigsegg Light Speed Transmission with paddle shifters, all while tipping the scales at 2,855 lbs. That’s about 220 lbs. lighter than the Jesko, which is impressive given that it has two gearboxes.

The fire-breathing Koenigsegg Agera RS Chimera produces 1,280 horsepower on regular pump gas. But if you feed it with E85 fuel, the twin-turbo V8 unlocks 1,600 horsepower. It has more horses than the two-of-a-kind CCXR Tevita and is rarer, too.

How much is the Koenigsegg Chimera?

Pricing is often undisclosed for ultra-rare, one-off renditions of supercars or hypercars. Unfortunately, the Koenigsegg Chimera falls into this category. But since it’s a one-off creation, you can bet that Mohammed Ben Sulayem spent a pretty penny for his Chimera.

When the Agera RS debuted in 2015, the base price was $2.5 million and it had the reputation of leaving a Bugatti Veyron in the dust. Meanwhile, the Chimera project took three years to complete since the car needed updated electronics, software, controllers, powertrain mounts, harnesses, and suspension components in order to accommodate newer hardware.

Company founder Christian von Koenigsegg said starting from scratch would be more economical than unearthing engineering solutions to make a retrofit project like the Chimera work. We can only wonder about the cost of all the hours spent on fusing three Koenigsegg hypercars in one. Considering the ultra-rare CCXR Trevita started at around $4.8 million, the Chimera is a unicorn worthy of an unofficial eight to $10 million price tag — pocket change for a man who reputably has a multi-million dollar auto collection.

NYT Connections: hints and answers for Friday, July 26 https://perks-to-win.me/nyt-connections-hints-and-answers-for-friday-july-26/ https://perks-to-win.me/nyt-connections-hints-and-answers-for-friday-july-26/#respond Fri, 26 Jul 2024 09:37:10 +0000 https://perks-to-win.me/?p=72397

Connections is the latest puzzle game from the New York Times. The game tasks you with categorizing a pool of 16 words into four secret (for now) groups by figuring out how the words relate to each other. The puzzle resets every night at midnight and each new puzzle has a varying degree of difficulty. Just like Wordle, you can keep track of your winning streak and compare your scores with friends.

Some days are trickier than others. If you’re having a little trouble solving today’s Connections puzzle, check out our tips and hints below. And if you still can’t get it, we’ll tell you today’s answers at the very end.

How to play Connections

In Connections, you’ll be shown a grid containing 16 words — your objective is to organize these words into four sets of four by identifying the connections that link them. These sets could encompass concepts like titles of video game franchises, book series sequels, shades of red, names of chain restaurants, etc.

There are generally words that seem like they could fit multiple themes, but there’s only one 100% correct answer. You’re able to shuffle the grid of words and rearrange them to help better see the potential connections.

Each group is color-coded. The yellow group is the easiest to figure out, followed by the green, blue, and purple groups.

Pick four words and hit Submit. If you’re correct, the four words will be removed from the grid and the theme connecting them will be revealed. Guess incorrectly and it’ll count as a mistake. You only have four mistakes available until the game ends.

Hints for today’s Connections

We can help you solve today’s Connection by telling you the four themes. If you need more assistance, we’ll also give you one word from each group below.

Today’s themes

BASIC DIRECTIONS
ADVOCATE FOR
DRAWBACK
INSTRUMENT HOMOPHONES

One-answer reveals

BASIC DIRECTIONS – DOWN
ADVOCATE FOR – BACK
DRAWBACK – CON

Today’s Connections answers

Still no luck? That’s OK. This puzzle is designed to be difficult.  If you just want to see today’s Connections answer, we’ve got you covered below:

Sonos CEO outlines fixes coming to busted app https://perks-to-win.me/sonos-ceo-outlines-fixes-coming-to-busted-app/ https://perks-to-win.me/sonos-ceo-outlines-fixes-coming-to-busted-app/#respond Fri, 26 Jul 2024 09:32:37 +0000 https://perks-to-win.me/?p=72394

Sonos CEO Patrick Spence has shared an open letter to Sonos owners assuring them “that fixing the app for all of our customers and partners has been and continues to be our number one priority” [emphasis his].

This is a tough line to say after you rushed out the app in the first place, along with a pair of headphones right after—both of which were not done when they launched. But, I am hopeful the company will end up fixing its app since I really enjoy its hardware, and in the past, it has usually offered decent software.

Further in the open letter, Spence continues to wax on about how much Sonos has done to try and bring its app back up to par since May 7th. He mentions updates that have rolled out every two weeks and a few features that have been added back.

That being said, there is still a lot of work to do, and personally, my Sonos setup glitched out for the third time since the new update two weeks ago, and since then, I’ve just unplugged them until Sonos can figure it out. It’s been an unreliable mess lately, and it’s really annoyed me to have a bunch of smart speakers that often just refuse to work.

Upcoming updates

July/August – Stability improvements and adding music library browsing, searching and more.

August/September – More system stability improvements, user interface improvements and faster volume responsiveness.

September – Fixing alarm consistency and reliability.

September/October – Restore edit mode for playlists and queue and improve settings functionality.

Spence said Sonos will continue to push out updates every two weeks, and the patch notes will be posted on the Sonos support website.

Pixel Buds Pro 2 Renders Detail Integrated Wing Design https://perks-to-win.me/pixel-buds-pro-2-renders-detail-integrated-wing-design/ https://perks-to-win.me/pixel-buds-pro-2-renders-detail-integrated-wing-design/#respond Fri, 26 Jul 2024 09:30:31 +0000 https://perks-to-win.me/?p=72391

Earlier this week, we got our first look at the upcoming Pixel Buds Pro 2, which apparently opened the floodgates. This morning, fresh renders for Google’s new earbuds hit the web, detailing what looks to be an integrated wing design. Based on feedback we saw on the last leak, this development is sure to please quite a few people.

Not only is that baby wing spotted and assumed to help the earbuds fit snuggly in your ears, but all expected color options are also previewed. Pixel Buds Pro 2 will apparently come in Charcoal, Porcelain, Aloe, and pink (Peony?). We’re still awaiting confirmation on what the pink color will be called.

While having images is fine and dandy, we’re still awaiting specs on how these new buds compare to the previous generation. We don’t have any of that information yet, so all we can do is remain patient and twiddle our thumbs until August 13.

Personally, I don’t quite get the wing hype. I think the Pixel Buds Pro are plenty comfy, so hopefully this new design is just as, if not nicer in the ear. What do you all think?

NYT Strands today: hints, spangram and answers for Friday, July 26 https://perks-to-win.me/nyt-strands-today-hints-spangram-and-answers-for-friday-july-26/ https://perks-to-win.me/nyt-strands-today-hints-spangram-and-answers-for-friday-july-26/#respond Fri, 26 Jul 2024 09:28:52 +0000 https://perks-to-win.me/?p=72388

Strands is a brand new daily puzzle from the New York Times. A trickier take on the classic word search, you’ll need a keen eye to solve this puzzle.

Like Wordle, Connections, and the Mini Crossword, Strands can be a bit difficult to solve some days. There’s no shame in needing a little help from time to time. If you’re stuck and need to know the answers to today’s Strands puzzle, check out the solved puzzle below.

How to play Strands

You start every Strands puzzle with the goal of finding the “theme words” hidden in the grid of letters. Manipulate letters by dragging or tapping to craft words; double-tap the final letter to confirm. If you find the correct word, the letters will be highlighted blue and will no longer be selectable.

If you find a word that isn’t a theme word, it still helps! For every three non-theme words you find that are at least four letters long, you’ll get a hint — the letters of one of the theme words will be revealed and you’ll just have to unscramble it.

Every single letter on the grid is used to spell out the theme words and there is no overlap. Every letter will be used once, and only once.

Each puzzle contains one “spangram,” a special theme word (or words) that describe the puzzle’s theme and touches two opposite sides of the board. When you find the spangram, it will be highlighted yellow.

The goal should be to complete the puzzle quickly without using too many hints.

Hint for today’s Strands puzzle

Today’s theme is “Go for the gold”
